For the month of April: Yoga for All
All Thursday’s except April 6th from 6pm – 7pm in the Sanctuary.
All Fridays except April 14th (Good Friday) from 5:30 – 6:30pm in the Chapel.

Lenten Series: Yoga for Inner Peace

Sundays – March 19th, 26th and April 9th from 11:15pm – 12:15pm in the Chapel

Lent is an important time of spiritual remembrance of the 40 days Jesus spent fasting in the desert. Lent is an old English word meaning ‘lengthen.’ Lent is observed in Spring when the days begin to get longer (thank you the BBC website!). Lent falls as Mother Nature begins to waken, and show her full foliage and beauty. We can follow her lead, and have a Yoga practice through Lent to support and build on inner reflection, self-discipline and forgiveness during this special time. In this series we will focus on gradually and systematically practicing asanas (yoga postures) from Yoga in Daily Life© that relax and strengthen the back muscles, help improve poor posture and flexibility of the spine, and strengthen the abdominal muscles.

These practices are suitable for everyone, for the first-time practitioner or the long-term student. Come and experience an authentic Yoga practice.

Please bring a yoga mat, wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing and a shawl or small blanket. This will be a donation-based class. All funds raised will be split, with half given to St. John’s and the other half to supporting social and humanitarian programs operated by Yoga in Daily Life.
