In July 2017, we went to Heifer Ranch in Perryville, AR. We survived 95% humidity, heat index of 110 degrees. We learned about global poverty as well as caring for the farm. Thank you to Calvary Presbyterian Church for allowing us to partner with them on this trip.
Global Village experience
For one night, we slept in the global village where we were divided into different sleeping areas. Depending on the area, you were allotted a certain amount of food and resources. The challenge was to figure out how to survive and feed the village with limited supplies.
We made pizza but had to collect and gather all the ingredients. We picked the herbs from the herb garden, milked the goat to make cheese.
